School Council

A new school council is elected at the beginning of each academic year, with representatives from every class from Year 1 to Year 6. All school council representatives are elected by their peers. The school council meets regularly to speak on behalf of the whole school and make decisions about school life. Class representatives feedback ideas from meetings to their classes and to the whole school in assemblies. The school council allows the opinions of our pupils to be valued and shared with the Headteacher and other members of staff.

School Council Aims for 2024-2025

  • Meet regularly to discuss the whole school ideas and views
  • Give every pupil a voice
  • Meet with key members of staff and the headteacher to discuss ideas
  • Feedback to all pupils in assembly
  • Organise fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for the school and decide how the money will be used
  • Contribute to charity and whole school events
  • To support the school to learn more about British Values and celebrate special events through our Family Group meetings

School Council members – 2024-2025

Sports Crew members – 2024-2025

We also have a ‘Sports Crew’.  These children attend an interview to be selected.  They organise playground games, help to choose sports clubs and promote being active and the benefits of exercise.

School Eco Council members – 2024-2025

Our Eco Council is a group of pupils from across the school, who meet regularly to discuss eco friendly and environmental issues within school. This prepares children to live their future lives with consideration for global issues. Typically our activities are around: biodiversity, healthy living, energy, waste and recycling.
