Childcare Provision

Primary Schools are now required to publish alongside their Performance information a list of their childcare provision making it easier for parents to know what is available.

Kirk Merrington Primary School offers a full range of childcare provision which we have listed below:

Nutmeg and Sprout Wraparound Care

At Kirk Merrington Primary School, we understand how important flexible, high-quality childcare is for busy families. That’s why we recommend  Nutmeg and Sprout Wraparound Care for  a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children before and after the school day.

 Session Times

  • Breakfast Club: 7:30am – 8:45am
Children can start their day with a healthy breakfast, varied activities, and a calm start before joining their classmates.

  • After School Club: 3:00pm – 6:00pm
After school, children enjoy a wide range of play and learning opportunities with their friends, including outdoor play, crafts, games, and themed activities. Light snacks and drinks are provided.

The Team

The friendly and experienced wraparound staff ensure that the children feel comfortable and well supported throughout the day. The team is passionate about creating a welcoming atmosphere where every child can thrive, play, and develop new skills.

Activities and Enrichment

Each session is planned to offer a balance of creative, active, and relaxing options — from arts and crafts  to sports, construction play, and story time. Seasonal themes and special celebration weeks keep things fresh and exciting all year round.

For New Starters

If your child is joining Reception, Nutmeg and Sprout is a great way to help them settle into school life, make new friends, and feel part of our community from day one. Sessions can be booked regularly or flexibly to suit your family’s needs.
